The dietitian's goal is to help patients understand that what they eat directly affects where their lab levels are. - Bachelor's degree in nutrition/dietetics or related area is required - Registered dietitian status with the American Dietetic Association - At least one year of experience in clinical dietetics and/or nutrition is strongly preferred (minimum of one year clinical experience as a Registered Dietitian required effective September 2008) - Ability to work flexible schedules, possibly for multiple facilities - Ability to travel when needed - Dialysis experience not required. Our Registered Dietitians assess the nutritional status of patients as determined by nutritional screening tool and physician order. Develop and implement care plans based on patient needs, current knowledge and clinical experience. Provide modified diet and normal nutrition education for patients as prescribed. Collaborate with other health professionals to integrate, interpret and communicate nutrition care principles. Act as a liaison between food service provider and organization. Follow nutritional standards of practice and complies with regulatory requirements. This is a part time position requiring 25 hours per week, and covers both inpatient hospitals. Candidates must be registered with the Commission of Dietetic Registration. They must have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college with a major in dietetics or acceptable prerequisite. At least 3 years of previous experience is required. 1 year of specialty experience in a rehabilitation setting is preferred.
